Buildscout joins the British Institute of Fitted Interiors Specialists as an Advocate

Buildscout is proud to announce that we have joined the British Institute of Fitted Interiors Specialists (BIFIS) as an Advocate, pledging our support to the fitted interiors installation sector.

BIFIS is the Government-sanctioned, not-for-profit institute that operates the register of competent and compliant installers within the fitted interiors sector. It raises professional standards and brings the industry together to support a sustainable workforce and reinforce consumer protection. As an Advocate, Buildscout joins a growing network of businesses supporting the institute, engaging directly with BIFIS and its registered installers, contributing to conversations and initiatives that affect the sector, and supporting the institute’s core pillars.

Why we joined BIFIS

Buildscout connects construction professionals with the right projects early in the planning process and positions them as experts. Tradespeople can proactively find and get in front of homeowners who have submitted planning applications for projects that match their expertise.

That early access helps installers grow their businesses sustainably, with a steady pipeline of the right work. It also means homeowners hear from qualified, reputable trades first, rather than rogue traders. BIFIS is working towards the same goal: a professional, competent installation sector that homeowners can trust.

Luke Stringer from Buildscout said: “Buildscout helps skilled professionals connect with homeowners early in the planning process, so they can grow their businesses sustainably and the right projects go to qualified, reputable trades rather than rogue traders. BIFIS shares our commitment to raising standards across the installation sector, and we’re proud to join as an Advocate and support its work with installers.”

Damian Walters, CEO of BIFIS, said: “We are delighted to welcome Buildscout to the BIFIS Advocate community. Our Advocate programme brings together businesses that recognise the importance of a professional, competent and sustainable installation sector and are prepared to play an active role in supporting its development. Buildscout’s decision to become an Advocate demonstrates its commitment to the fitted interiors sector and to the businesses and professionals working within it. We look forward to working closely with the Buildscout team and creating opportunities for them to engage with our installer community and wider stakeholder network.”
